Le Ann Maxima Fall Holiday Collection Preview 2012

July 4th, 2012 by Karmun

We are hardly one month into Summer but already fashionistas everywhere are abuzz with excitement as to what to expect for this coming Fall. No shocker there since it’s their job to stay at least two seasons ahead of the game. Riding up at the helm of frontliners in the world of fashion, is our own homegrown brand Le Ann Maxima, who already have an array of new designs ready to please all lovers of this earthy and rich time of year.

Allowing a bunch of us bloggers a two-month advance sneak peek into what they have in store after the temperatures have dropped and the sundresses are all tucked away, Le Ann Maxima threw a small fashion show for a few invited guests only at its flagship store in Jaya One, PJ last week. I was one of the 15 lucky bloggers who were invited to spend an afternoon taking first look at the line’s new offerings, after which we had tea to wash down all that pretty clothes with.

Fall has always been my favourite season to shop simply because I like all things grungy, rugged and a little rough around the edges. Nothing too demure for me, please and thank you. I love it when timeless pieces begin to show a bit of wear in them, like an old pair of jeans you’ve lived the past five years of your life in, or those leather boots that look a bit scuffed around the edges. I always get super excited when July comes to an end because that’s when the tough-and-rough pieces start making their appearance. I also happen to love the muted tones that usually comes with every Fall piece. Some might call it bland and boring, mixing so much nude and earthen tones together, but I find it achieves a different level of harmony when colours from the same hues get pulled together.

Le Ann Maxima managed to present almost a little bit of everything to appeal to even the most diverse of tastes. This time round, they’ve cleverly infused mythical prints and motifs from the ancient Egypt Revival with French Artisan’s interpretations of Chinese art and culture. What we have is a very sultry hybrid of comfort, style and practicality.

Tribal prints are heavily apparent in this season’s designs, with Le Ann Maxima’s own rendition of it by the name of Urban Luxe. Playing around with chiffon, printed sequins and lightweight crepe, they’ve managed to make the pieces exotic-looking with a small touch of urban decadence. Now there’s no reason why you shouldn’t wear that favourite tribal print skirt of yours to the office! The trick is to do it right. Le Ann Maxima shows you how.

For those who prefer more colour in their daily wardrobe, the brand hasn’t forgotten about you! Colours are accentuated by mixing exotic prints and contrasting prime colours to create an eye-catching combo. The effort is further heightened by pairing together fabrics of different material to give the look multiple silhouettes at one glance.

Work and play should never meld. Which was why Le Ann Maxima also very thoughtfully catered for both spectrums.

Got a lunch date with the bestfriend to catch up on all that you’ve missed out on each other’s life in the past week? They have light, fun pieces that radiates youthfullness to keep the weekday humdrum at bay.

Planning to hit town and paint the night red with your girlfriends? Steal the show and every pair of eyes in the room with Le Ann Maxima’s sequinned wonders.

For the more glamourous affair, gowns of lavish fabrics and and whimsical prints are at ready to make you the belle of any ball.

I wasn’t kidding when I said they have something for every girl and every occasion!

Of the many gorgeous pieces of clothing we stared wide-eyed and in awe at, two in particular caught my eye.

It’s no secret by now that I’m the biggest leather junkie around. Anything made from smooth, buttery hide turns my buttons on. The cropped jacket with a classic cut collar was just my kind of rugged versatility. Throw it over anything and up your bad ass points by 50 easily. The red peplum-ed dress on the other hand was just feminine enough without appearing too girly. It’s tough, it’s mean, it says to not mess with me. All that with a dainty boat neck and curves-eccentuating skirt. Anymore questions?

Do you also have your eyes on something that interests you? Is there something you absolutely must have?

Well, good news! Le Ann Maxima also believes in rewarding its customers. From now till July 15th, they are giving away RM100 worth of shopping vouchers to one deserving winner.
